NYSSCPA Works to Extend Tax Deadlines

The NYSSCPA has been working on your behalf to extend the deadline for individual and business tax filings without any form of penalties to provide relief amid the pandemic of the coronavirus, or COVID-19.

We have reached out to the New York State Department of Taxation and we are working in conjunction with the AICPA to address deadlines on the federal level.  We have stressed the importance of expediting these decisions because of the March 15 deadline.

For years, the NYSSCPA has advocated on behalf of its members and their clients, and we plan to continue those efforts during this fast-moving pandemic. As New York is one of the states hit hardest by the coronavirus, we know our members and their clients are likely to be grappling with the repercussions. We will continue to push for deadline extensions and will keep you up to date as the situation evolves.

For general coronavirus safety information go to nysscpa.org/covid19 or follow the NYSSCPA on social media.
