Technical Glitch Temporarily Leaves Chase Customers With Incorrect Balances

Chase Bank customers over the weekend were reporting on social media that their balances had unexpectedly changed, with money either added or lost to their accounts, sometimes hundreds or even thousands. CNN Business, quoting the Chase Twitter account, said that this was due to a technical glitch that has now been fixed. The glitch was discovered hours after it was being reported on social media and quickly patched, with the last of the work finished on Sunday.

So, if you're a Chase customer and saw a strange balance that made no sense, now you know why.
