IR-2019-149, September 4, 2019 — The IRS said today that the new Tax Withholding Estimator tool includes a feature designed to make it easier for employees who also receive self-employment income to accurately estimate the right amount of tax to have taken out of their pay.

SEC and CFTC Charge Options Clearing Corp. With Failing to Establish and Maintain Adequate Risk Management Policies
2019-171 Washington D.C., Sept. 4, 2019 — The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission today announced that the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) will undertake remedial efforts and pay $20 million in penalties to settle charges that it failed to implement policies to manage certain risks as required by U.S. laws and SEC and CFTC rules.

2019-170 Washington D.C., Sept. 3, 2019 — The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Monique C. Winkler has been named Associate Regional Director for enforcement in the San Francisco Regional Office.  Ms. Winkler succeeds Erin E. Schneider, who became Regional Director of the SEC's San Francisco office in May 2019.
