New York-based firm Prager Metis topped the list of accounting firms with the most new SEC clients in the second quarter, after having absorbed a Nevada-based firm, according to Accounting Today. Having merged with AMC Auditing this past February, the firm netted 18 new engagements, with 16 of them having come from the recent acquisition.

Among the Big Four, Deloitte topped the list, having gained a net of nine new SEC clients in the quarter, far above its rivals Ernest & Young (EY) (-1 on net), KPMG (-4), and PwC (-6). However, sheer numbers alone don't tell the whole story. While Deloitte was number one in terms of total number of new SEC clients, EY led the pack when it came to new market capitalization audited, $22.76 billion. It also topped the list of firms that collected the most new audit fees, at $13.5 million. Meanwhile, PwC was number one in terms of new assets audited, $10.6 billion.
