The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)
swore in Megan Zietsman, who had previously been the organization's chief auditor, as a new board member to replace the outgoing James Kaiser.
Zeitsman was appointed as chief auditor and director of professional standards in February 2019, having previously been a Deloitte audit partner. She previously served on the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, from 2014 to 2019, including as the deputy chair from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, she served on the AICPA's Auditing Standards Board from 2007 to 2011.
“I join the Board today with an already strong appreciation for the PCAOB’s mission to protect investors,” said Zietsman. “The role we play and our efforts to promote high quality auditing might be more important now than ever before as we live through the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s an honor and a privilege to have this opportunity, and I am looking forward to working with my fellow Board members to advance the important work of implementing the PCAOB’s strategic plan.”
