The 17th Annual Audit Conference, hosted by Baruch College on November 29, 2022, once again brought together auditors, regulators, standards setters, and preparers to discuss current topics in auditing. “Ensuring Integrity” was, as always, the theme of the gathering, and the first panel of the day featured an update on standards setting by representatives from the ASB, SEC, and PCAOB. The other panels during the day dealt with different emerging topics relevant to auditors: the growing field of environmental, social, and governance reporting; quality management; the future of audit teams; and data analytics. The panelists represented a cross-section of the profession, with regulators, practitioners, academics, and other experts all addressing these topics.
