CPAs are uniquely positioned to assess the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on client organizations, employers, and society. The profession continues to contribute to recovery and resiliency efforts through its various professional disciplines and specialties. One of these disciplines, internal audit, assists organizations by providing independent assurance and advice on the effectiveness of its response and management of the crisis. Typically, firms offer this service through their risk advisory service line. Organizations also employ individual practitioners or an independent internal audit function.
