The purpose of our article was not to provide an exhaustive analysis of every federal and state law that relates to whistleblowing. Rather, as we stated in the article, the purpose was to provide a general overview of those laws that provide employment antiretaliation protections for CPA whistleblowers who disclose noncompliance with laws and regulations (NOCLAR) to a “government authority or regulator” without an employer's consent in order to highlight the inconsistencies and gaps in whistleblower protections under existing laws.
