Jay D. Hanson has served as a PCAOB board member since January 2011. Prior to his appointment, he worked as the national director of accounting at McGladrey & Pullen LLP and as leader of the firm's accounting standards group. He also served on the Emerging Issues Task Force from 2006 to 2011 and was a member of the Financial Reporting Executives Committee from 2008 to 2011.CPA Journal Editor-in-Chief Maria L. Murphy recently met with Hanson at the PCAOB headquarters in Washington, D.C., where they discussed audit regulation, inspection findings, audit quality, and emerging issues in audit standards setting. Hanson spoke for himself and not the board or the PCAOB as a whole.
