For the fourth consecutive year, the New York State Legislature passed an on-time budget. Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the 2014/2015 Budget Act into law on March 31, 2014, as Chapters 55 and 59, N.Y. Laws of 2014. The Budget Act makes changes to several areas of the tax law that apply to individuals. The following are some of these provisions, many of which can potentially reduce taxpayers' personal income taxes.
