As the SEC's chief accountant, James L. Kroeker serves as the commission's principal advisor on accounting and auditing matters. Kroeker joined the SEC as deputy chief accountant in February 2007. He also served as staff director of the SEC's recent study of fair value accounting standards, and was responsible for the staff oversight of the SEC's Advisory Committee on Improvements to Financial Reporting. Prior to joining the SEC, Kroeker was a partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP and that firm's representative on the AICPA Accounting Standards Executive Committee (AcSEC). He also served as a practice fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
