Avoid the Mass-Produced Resume, Custom-Tailor Them to Employer

While it may be tempting to just have one master resume you send out to all job prospects, an article in CNBC notes that you'll stand out more if you custom-tailor them to whom you're applying. The article says you don't need to recreate your entire resume over and over again: start with your main one that lists all your qualifications, experience and certifications, but then tweak it to fit the specifics of the job you're applying for. This will help your resume be less generic. While this does take more work, which does mean you'll probably be applying to fewer jobs overall, the ones you do apply to will be more likely to succeed, according to CNBC.
