Lickd.co, a music licensing platform, released a calculator that estimates how many social media followers one needs in order to make certain sums of money. CNBC used it to determine how successful someone who wants to make $100,000 needs to be on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

YouTube requires the least number of subscribers to make $100,000, according to the calculator: 1,000 (so that the YouTuber can join the YouTube Partners Program) and about 24 million yearly views. A YouTuber will also need to have accumulated more than 4,000 “valid public watch” hours in the last 12 months and have a linked AdSense account. The average YouTuber makes about $7.60 per 1,000 views.

Instagram influencers need at least 5,000 followers and 308 sponsored posts a year. They also have to use a professional account. CNBC also said that if someone has over a million followers, that person can make up to $250,000 per post from certain brands.

TikTokers need at least 10,000 subscribers and over 270 million views per year to make $100,000. They also need to be based in either the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain or Italy; be at least 18 years old; and have at least 100,000 followers and a least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
