About the CPA Portability Committee

Who We Are

In today’s world, it is rare for members to stay with the same employer their entire careers or continue in the same position, as the member is confronted with evolving professional development and work-life balance decisions. The CPA Portability Committee (the Committee) seeks to address those dynamics that directly impact a CPA and their clients and employers. The Committee will focus particularly on client facing issues in conjunction with professional responsibilities associated with members changing career decisions or moving between industries.

What We Do

·         Establish a forum to gather information on issues relevant to the Committee’s objectives and develop policy recommendations.

·         Identify and comment on emerging practice issues, include those associated with changing technologies and social norms.

·         Maintain a liaison between the community, NYSSCPA and other interested organizations to gather salient perspectives from relevant stakeholders.

·         Disseminate findings/recommendations that both support the membership and foster the public trust in the profession.

·         Fulfill the goals of the Committee through white papers, articles, presentations and seminars.

·         Ancillary benefits include networking opportunities sponsored by the Committee.

Who Should Join

Any member who has an interest in advancing the public’s perception of the profession and addressing membership needs in a rapidly evolving professional landscape. Committee members are part of a team dedicated to promote appreciation of the membership, distinguished by high professional standards, a strict code of professional ethics, and the commitment to serve the public interest.
