About the Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee

Committee Action Plan

Who We Are

 

We are members of the Society who work in, or are interested in the area of, private equity and venture capital funds. We focus on accounting, audit, valuation, legal, compliance, regulation, best practices, investor due diligence and other operational areas associated with private equity and venture capital funds.

 

What We Do

 

·         We meet quarterly and hold educational presentations/discussions on topics of current interest.

 

·         Examine developments in the areas of:

o   Impact of Dodd- Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act

o   Valuations of investments

o   Operations and best practices

o   Secondary markets and resale’s to other funds

 

·         Comment on relevant legislative proposals and coordinate with other appropriate responding committees in responses to SEC (Investment Management Division), CFTC, OCC, Federal Reserve, FASB and AICPA initiatives.

 

·         Sponsor a Private Equity and Venture Capital Conference each year.

 

·         Address technical questions from members of the Society on valuation and other accounting related topics related to private equity and venture capital funds.

Members, including accountants, lawyers, investment bankers and consultants,who work in or are interested in the private equity area, venture capital, buy-out firms, M&A groups, and institutional investing.
