About the Real Estate Committee





Who We Are


Society members in industry and public practice with an interest in and who provide services to the real estate industry.


What We Do


·         Provide an open forum for discussion of technical issues affecting members in both industry and public practice.


·         Provide consulting service by responding to inquiries not requiring research via the technical hotline:

o    Real Estate Taxes

o    Condos and Co-ops

o    Financial Accounting and Reporting

·         Develop formal educational programs for the Foundation for Accounting and Education through a technical subcommittee.


·         Develop the program for the annual real estate conference relative to the accounting profession through a dedicated subcommittee.


·         Prepare and review articles on subjects related to the real estate industry, as needed.


·         Prepare, review and respond to articles and exposure drafts that cover matters related to the real estate industry, as needed.


·         Initiate the identification of emerging professional issues and submit comments thereon to the Board of Directors.


·         Develop and maintain liaison between the Society and the industry, government and other related organizations which affect committee activities.


Who Should Join


Society members in good standing who have an interest in the real estate industry and wish to participate in the committee’s activities.
