Vision and goals for the coming year

By Elisha M. Brestovansky
Mid Hudson Chapter President

I am honored and excited to step into the role of President for the Mid Hudson Chapter of the NYSSCPA. It is with great enthusiasm that I reach out to each of you, our valued members, to share my vision and goals for the coming year. Together, we will build on our foundation of excellence, fostering an environment that thrives on increased membership, active involvement, teamwork and networking.

Increasing membership

Our organization’s strength lies in its membership. One of my primary goals is to grow our community by attracting new members who share our passion for accounting and our commitment to professional development. We will launch targeted outreach initiatives, partner with educational institutions and leverage social media to raise awareness about the benefits of joining the NYSSCPA and becoming active members in the Mid Hudson Chapter. By expanding our membership base, we enrich our collective knowledge and ensure a diverse and dynamic exchange of ideas.

Active involvement

Membership is only the beginning. Active involvement is the key to personal and professional growth within our organization and the profession. I encourage each of you to engage with our programs, attend our events and contribute your expertise. Whether it’s through participating in our seminars, volunteering for committees or leading new initiatives, your active participation is vital to our chapter’s growth. We will be introducing new platforms and opportunities to make your engagement with the Mid Hudson Chapter more accessible and rewarding.

Teamwork

Collaboration and teamwork are at the heart of what we do. In the coming year, we will focus on fostering a culture of teamwork that supports our mission and enhances our collective impact. We will facilitate more collaborative projects and events and create cross-functional teams to tackle important issues and innovative solutions in the accounting field. Together, we can achieve more than we ever could individually.

Networking

Building and nurturing professional relationships is essential in today’s interconnected world. Our organization will amplify its efforts to provide exceptional networking opportunities. We plan to host a variety of events, both virtual and in-person, including networking events, conferences and CPE sessions. These events will be designed to help you connect with peers, mentors and leaders in the accounting profession, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and opportunities.

In closing, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and commitment to the Mid Hudson Chapter. I am confident that by working together, we can achieve astonishing things in the year ahead. Let us seize this opportunity to grow, engage, collaborate and connect as we advance the accounting profession and make a meaningful impact in our community.

Thank you for being a part of this journey. I look forward to working with each of you and am excited about what we will accomplish together.

The Mid-Hudson Region is located north of New York City and south of Albany along the picturesque Hudson River, and includes Ulster, Dutchess, Sullivan, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties. It is a mix of urban areas, waterfront cities, rural villages, farmlands and forests.

The region is located in the epicenter of the Boston-Washington Corridor. More than thirty colleges and universities are located within the Mid-Hudson region.

Businesses chose the Mid-Hudson for its educated workforce, proximity to marketplace and access to water. The Hudson Valley, with some of the world’s largest, most sophisticated technology and manufacturing companies – as well as Healthcare and Social Assistance and Retail Trade – is a great place to do business.

The presiding President of the Mid Hudson Chapter is Elisha Brestovansky.
Chartered April 1, 1955, this chapter encompasses the following counties:
Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster
