Jeff Birnbach is the Managing Director and a Partner in the Sylint Group, Inc. His background includes over 30 years in senior leadership roles in cyber security, investigations and emerging technologies. In his current role, he oversees cyber security and digital data forensics teams focused on intrusion detection, incident response, breach investigation, security assessment, malware identification and remediation. Recent investigations under his direction include extortion, ransomware, nation-state attacks, Medicare fraud, credential trafficking, celebrity stalking and child exploitation. A frequent speaker on cyber security, incident response and investigations to diverse audiences, he has provided briefings to the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), U.S. Secret Service - Electronic Crimes Task Force, FBI Infragard, and the American Bar Association. He has also provided training sessions on the investigation of cyber crimes for numerous law enforcement agencies. Jeff is a member of the board of directors of the Global Consortium for Counter Cyber Terrorism, a US based organization collaborating with international NGO’s to develop proactive and reactive responses to evolving threats. Active in the local community, he serves as President of the Sarasota Police Foundation, Inc., and is past commodore of the Sarasota Yacht Club. He has been repeatedly interviewed for print media and TV, providing context and commentary to developing news stories related to cyber security incidents.
