John Amirante

John is a highly experienced and credentialed wealth management professional who has catered to a loyal and impressive group of non-profit organizations, their boards, investment committees and senior leaders for most of his 25-year career. Prior to joining Merrill in 2016, John was a vice president at another major financial firm – advising both for-profit and nonprofit businesses on issues of closely held assets, middle market investment banking and specialty asset services, including oil and gas and hard assets. As a Defined Contribution Investment Consultant, John addresses the asset management needs and advises on the fiduciary issues confronting private and public entities. Over the years, he has helped dozens of business owners and plan administrators navigate the development and implementation of group retirement plans. John is a lifetime learner who holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation awarded by the Investments & Wealth Institute™, the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation from the American College of Financial Services and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor, CPFATM designation from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA). John was named to Forbes “Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams” list in 2023–2026* as a member of The Beacon Group (published annually in January. Rankings based on data as of March 31 of prior year.) * John earned an MBA from the Columbia Business School at Columbia University in New York City. He resides in Manalapan, New Jersey with his wife and their two children.
