NEW YORK, NY, MAY 15, 2012 – The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) installed Richard T. Van Osten, CPA of Commack, as a director-at-large at its 115th Annual Election Meeting & Dinner held at the New York Marriott Marquis on May 10. Van Osten is a partner in the audit practice at Ernst & Young LLP’s Jericho office. Van Osten’s term is for three years and begins on June 1, 2012.
Van Osten joined the NYSSCPA in 2006. He served for four years on the Auditing Standards Committee. He is a member of its Suffolk Chapter.
Van Osten is a member of the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Van Osten earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Florida in 1990.
