CPA Society Host Auditing Standards Conference, Nov. 18

NEW YORK – (Nov. 15, 2016) – CPAs, partners, attorneys and others in the accounting and auditing profession will convene Nov. 18 for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (NYSSCPA) 2016 Auditing Standards Conference, 14 Wall Street, 19th Floor, from 8:20 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The conference produced by the Society’s Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE), will feature accounting professionals, attorneys, and owners from private and public firms, discussing changes that will affect year-end audits and updates related to the American Institute of CPAs’ (AICPA) Auditing Standards Board’s projects. This includes feedback from practitioners on the AICPA’s Statement on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS) No. 21 adoption.

Julian Jacoby, CPA, will discuss traditional procedures for financial statement disclosures and the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s efforts to reduce complexity in materiality disclosures for investors. 

Steven Berger, Esq., shareholder, Vedder Price P.C., will give an ethics and legal update on rules and regulations that are affecting auditing practices. Berger will address recent litigations against accountants and provide professionals with the best practice measures to mitigate mentioned issues.
