Albany Verges on Accountancy Reform Laws

NYSSCPA Goes to Washington

New York—The first day of June saw a bustle of activity in Albany bringing accounting and school audit reform laws closer to reality.

The full Senate, as of this writing, was slated to vote on accounting reform legislation—S-4642, sponsored by Sen. Kenneth LaValle (R-Port Jeffereson)—and a bill to improve the auditing and financial management of public schools—S-5050, sponsored by Steven Saland (R-Poughkeepsie).
