of the New York Stock Exchange, on Feb. 15 spoke at a reception
of the SEC Historical Society held at NYSSCPA headquarters in New

event that precipitated the downsizing of the Big Five accounting
firms—the SEC is taking steps to protect corporations, their
executives and accounting firms from lawsuits filed by company shareholders
