NEW YORK—Enhanced accountability in financial reporting was the issue on everyone’s mind as New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi addressed the more than 400 attendees of the Foundation for Accounting Education’s 28th Annual Nonprofit Conference on Jan. 18 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.

Hevesi discussed increased expectations for accounting and auditing in the public and not-for-profit sectors.
