Nominating
Committee Poses Slate of 2003–2004 Officers
Elections to Be Held May 15

NEW YORK—The
New York State Society of CPAs last month announced the nominees for Society
officers and board members for the 2003-2004 fiscal year that begins on
June 1.
Nominating
Committee Chairman Stuart Kessler announced the committee’s
nominations in a letter written Jan. 23. The nominations include John
J. Kearney for president-elect; Vincent J. Love, Sandra A. Napoleon-Hudson,
Raymond M. Nowicki and Steven Rubin for vice presidents; Thomas
E. Riley for secretary (second year), and Arthur Bloom for
treasurer.
Nominees
named to fill open positions on the NYSSCPA board of directors are Michelle
A. Cohen, Mark Ellis, Raymond P. Jones, Richard E. Piluso and Robert
N. Waxman as directors-at-large, each with three-year terms.
Nominees
for directors representing various chapters with three-year terms include
Ann B. Cohen (Buffalo Chapter); Nancy A. Kirby (Central
Southern Tier Chapter); William Aiken (Manhattan/Bronx Chapter);
Philip G. Westcott (Southern Tier Chapter); David J. Moynihan
(Syracuse Chapter), and Robert L. Ecker (Westchester Chapter).
The officers
and directors for the 2003–2004 term will be elected during the
106th Annual Election Meeting and Dinner on May 15. Additional details
on the event will be included in the March issue of The Trusted Professional.
The Nominating
Committee’s official report, including detailed information on each
nominee and a proxy ballot, will be featured in the March Trusted Professional
and on the Society’s website at www.nysscpa.org.
According
to Article X of the Society’s bylaws, independent nominations for
an officer or elected director may be made by petition filed with the
secretary by March 20. The petition requires at least 100 signatures,
other than the nominee, and must certify that the nominee has consented
to serve if elected.
