Ed Slott Featured at Estate Planning Dinner

By Jeffrey S. Gold, CPA

Edward A. Slott discussed "Estate and Retirement Planning War Stories" at the NYSSCPA Estate Planning Committee's annual dinner on November 1. The featured speaker is an Estate Planning Committee member and publisher of the monthly Ed Slott's IRA Advisor.

Through anecdotes drawn from his own experience as well as recent published accounts, Slott illustrated opportunities and pitfalls practitioners may encounter in providing estate planning services. He stressed how planners might use these insights to better serve their existing clients and help gain new ones.

The Estate Planning Committee, chaired by Alan D. Kahn, sponsors the annual dinner to provide a forum for members to gather in a social atmosphere and exchange ideas. The committee holds monthly meetings and plans CPE seminars, writes articles for The CPA Journal, and conducts other activities to keep members updated on the latest estate planning developments. For more information on the committee, contact Kahn at (516) 677-0270. *
