Message From the President

By the time you read this, I’ll be on the downhill side of my tenure as president. With less than six months remaining, I am counting down the days. To my president’s reception, that is. The theme this year will be Hawaiian. Hawaiian shirts are mandatory.

The past month was very eventful; the networking event at the Willow Ridge Country Club was a sellout. We had over 200 signed up. The food, drinks and company were great. Many people contributed to the success of the evening, and my thanks go to them all.

The WAIFA networking event was also well attended, with over 70 financial professionals, CPAs and attorneys present. It seemed everyone was having a great time.

The all-day Tax Conference was sold out in less than two weeks. The Officers Visitation and Ethics CPE seminar was also sold out; we had capped it at 150, but demand was so intense that we added 5 additional tables. The latest count is over 210. You know a bargain when you see one. The audit committee’s two events are booking up quickly, so please register early.

We are planning a Local Practitioners event for January. It is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Thursday, Jan. 22, on a topic to be determined.

We are again looking for nominations for the Kelly Award. Please take the time to nominate a CPA who meets these high standards.

Thanks again to those board members, chairs and committee members that are giving their time to make this chapter the best in the state.
