Message From the President By Pat Wright, Brooklyn Chapter President Greetings to all chapter members, students and supporters. First, I want to apologize for the courses that either got cancelled or were postponed in October and November. However, these things happen and as professionals we take it in stride and know that things will improve. In November we had the E-file seminar sponsored by the IRS and also the Brooklyn Chapter of the Young & New CPAs meet-and-greet session. I will tell you more about that in The Trusted Professional’s January issue. Many of you have requested that we repeat our seminar on Alternative Minimum Tax, so please register immediately for the 2-credit CPE Seminar on Monday, December 15, at Long Island University. It costs only $25 and, with tax season upon us, you cannot afford to miss this session. (See Save the Date on this page for more details.) Our big one-day Tax Seminar on Jan. 8, sponsored by the IRS, FAE/Brooklyn Chapter of the NYSSCPA and the Accounting Society of Long Island University, promises to be a very good one. We have great presenters and a chance for you to earn 8 CPE credits, all for the price of $99 for members or $115 for nonmembers. Our ongoing mission is to spread the word to the young
people of the community through high school contacts. We will encourage
them to choose a career in accounting and, above all, to stay focused
on the path of excellence. Happy holidays to everyone, be safe, be warm and, above all, be happy. Patricia G. Wright can be reached at 212-759-6556 or p_wright@starrllc.com. |
