Over 100 CPAs and other professionals attended the Estate Planning Council of New York City's dinner on October 12 to hear Arthur Sederbaum from Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler LLP discuss the impact of recent valuation cases on estate planning taxation.

The Estate Planning Council is an association of CPAs, attorneys, life underwriters, and trust officers. Its meetings cover topics of common interest and promote a better understanding of its member services. The council holds four evening meetings each year and a full-day Estate Planners Day in the spring.

The October dinner meeting was the council's opening event of the 19992000 year. The council's new president, Stephen J. Krass, presided over the meeting, introduced the new board, and presented a token of appreciation to the immediate past President Roger Phillips.
