International Committee Discusses Cross-Border Due Diligence

Breakfast Meeting Recruits New Members

The NYSSCPA International Operations Committee held a breakfast meeting on October 19 that featured a presentation by committee member Gregg H. Saunders on due diligence in cross-border transactions.

The event was well attended by both committee members and nonmembers. As a result of the meeting, three attendees joined the committee.

Saunders shared his expertise on trends in cross-border merger and acquisition transactions--from the initial planning of an engagement through the final report to the potential buyer. He discussed the composition of the team involved, key areas during the due diligence process, local issues, and financial and other key business issues to consider when advising a client on such transactions. He provided many examples of actual experiences to articulate his views.

"Gregg Saunders' presentation was both insightful and informative and his experience and use of examples really highlighted the areas he discussed," committee Chair Alan Alzfan said.
