Limited Liability Companies the Focus of Bankers Breakfast

By Tara Oolie

The NYSSCPA Cooperation with Bankers and Other Credit Grantors Committee's October 7 breakfast featured James Kardon and Anthony Altamura, from the law firm Hahn & Hessen LLP, who spoke to more than 100 CPAs and bankers about various aspects of limited liability companies.

"Given their structural and tax flexibility, LLCs are likely to increasingly be the pass-through vehicle of choice among businesspeople," Kardon said. "Lenders and their professional advisors will be well served to appreciate the components giving rise to such flexibility and how they can be arranged to best satisfy their particular commercial objectives."

The fall breakfast and other events sponsored by the committee give Society members and bankers the opportunity to network and to hear speakers discuss hot issues affecting both industries.

"The standing room only crowd is evidence that these breakfasts continue to provide a platform for fostering relationships between the Society and New York metro area bankers," committee Chair Steve Rosenberg said.

The committee's next breakfast meeting will take place in January. Please contact Carla Montgomery at (212) 719-8376, (800) 633-6320, or cmontgomery@nysscpa.org for more information. *
