AICPA Honors Milton Brown

Council Resolution Recognizes Accomplishments

By Danielle D'Angelo

The AICPA board of directors passed a resolution at the October Council meeting to recognize the accomplishments of Milton Brown, a public accountant who served as chair of the National Association of State Boards of Public Accountancy in 199899.

Brown was the first public accountant to serve as NASBA chair. The AICPA resolution acknowledged his overall contributions to the accounting profession, his leadership to advance the Uniform Accountancy Act, a joint proposal of the AICPA and NASBA, and his efforts to improve relations between NASBA and the AICPA.

"[T]he board of directors of the American Institute of CPAs does hereby recognize with deep gratitude and esteem the contribution of Milton Brown to the advancement of the profession and protection of the public it serves," the resolution said. *
