Oversight Chairs Update Executive Committee
By Nereida Gomez
The chairs of the NYSSCPA Industry, Tax, and Future of the Profession oversight committees attended the Society's Executive Committee meeting on October 28 to provide updates on their activities and future goals. Chairs of the other oversight committees--Accounting and Auditing, and Consulting Services--submitted written reports.
These new committee divisions were created by the board of directors which approved the recommendation of the Committee on Committee Operations to better serve Society members and reflect changes in the accounting profession. COCO Chair Carol Lapidus also attended the October meeting where she and the oversight chairs discussed with the Executive Committee their efforts to organize their committees and divisions to fully implement the new committee structure which takes effect in June.

"The Committee on Committee Operations is a thinking committee, with the goal of meeting the needs of all Society committees," Lapidus said. "Our presentation to the Executive Committee enabled us to share our plans and the ongoing progress of the restructuring process. We appreciated the valuable recommendations and input made by the Executive Committee." *
