York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi has admitted using a state employee
as a chauffeur for his wife since March 2003 and subsequently paid

Financial Accounting Standards Board recently issued a standard,
No. 158, that will require employers to fully recognize in their
financial statements the obligations associated with single-employer
defined benefit pension, retiree healthcare and other postretirement

Board Adds Two Standing Rules |

The NYSSCPA
Board of Directors, at its meeting on Sept. 21, 2006, passed two
new standing rules, one that creates a governance subcommittee of
the board on an ongoing basis and another providing a “sense
of the Board” that the Society’s President should take
an active role in the appointment of members to the committees that
report to the Society’s Executive Committee or Board.
