NEW YORK—At their fall council meeting on Oct. 25, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) governing council approved a proposal to relocate its operations headquarters from Jersey City, N.J., to Durham, N.C., as a cost-saving measure. Additionally, the council approved a proposal to restructure the Center for Public Company Audit Firms. The meeting also confirmed Leslie A. Murphy as the new AICPA Council chairperson.

Call for Nominations for AICPA Council

In January 2006, the NYSSCPA will propose four individuals to the AICPA Nominating Committee to serve three-year terms beginning October 2006 on the AICPA’s 265-person governing body, the Council. In addition, one person will be designated by the Society to serve a one-year term as its representative to Council, also beginning October 2006. Continue...
