Message From the President

The Utica Chapter has had a busy fall. In September, the chapter sponsored a booth at the Mohawk Valley Showcase. The showcase was a great venue to bring community awareness to the profession and the New York State Society of CPAs. Those who participated met with local merchants to discuss products and services available in the Mohawk Valley. On Sept. 19, we hosted the annual Officers Visitation and Ethics CPE at the Yahnundasis Golf Club. Society President Jeff Hoops spoke to a large audience on the major highlights on accountancy reform legislation. His speech was followed by the Ethics Update. I want to thank everyone who attended. Although the program was a little longer than anticipated, I hope all left with a better understanding of the topics presented.
Our Young CPA Committee,
under the leadership of Eileen Hamlin, is in the process
of setting up a happy hour in late November or early December. This
committee is also organizing our participation in the Toys for Tots
Campaign. Please try to support these events as more information
becomes available.
