Message From the President By Phyllis Graybow, Rockland Chapter President Like Rockland County’s show of gorgeous multicolored leaves during October, our chapter featured an array of assorted events last month as well. The young CPAs had a get-together on Oct. 14 at Dave and Busters. Loads of fun and games were had by all. On Oct. 16, our chapter joined with the Westchester Chapter to cohost a dinner meeting at the Tarrytown Hilton for Members in Industry. State Society Executive Director Lou Grumet led an informative discussion, which was followed by CPE and a dinner. Once again, the Rockland Chapter participated in the Rockland Business Association Expo at the Rockland Community College fieldhouse on Oct. 22. We found this venue, initiated last year, to be an essential place to portray the proper image of our profession to the rest of the community. Lastly, on Oct. 28, we ran our successful “Networking with Professionals” event for the third straight year in a row. Michael Bongiorno, Rockland County district attorney, addressed the audience about white-collar crime. The bankers, mortgage brokers, financial planners, attorneys and CPAs in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the presentation. Many thanks to our chairmen, Mela Garber and Brian Wasser, for all of their efforts and hard work with this event. Phyllis Graybow can be reached at 845-634-3413 or phyl123@juno.com. |
