Message From the President

By Charles Weintraub, Staten Island Chapter President

Happy New Year! Tax season is here.

On Dec. 9, we had a one-hour CPE seminar on retirement plans for closely held businesses. Andrew Diamond from Paychecks gave a great overview of the many different types of plans available for small businesses. This event was organized by Anthony Tanzi and me. Anthony, thanks for a great job!

Please remember that the following events have been scheduled:

Board Meetings:

To be determined.

Educational Seminars:

  • Auditing Standards and New Pronouncements: This Jan. 6 seminar, at the Renaissance catering hall, is chaired by Curt Philpazak.
  • Empire Zone: This May 13 event, chaired by Charles Weintraub, will be at a place to be determined.
    Social Events:
  • Installation Dinner: This annual event, on May 21, is at the Renaissance catering hall and is chaired by Charles Weintraub.

As you can see from the above, we have a full calendar, and we are always looking for new faces and assistance. If you are interested, please contact me.

Hoping everyone enjoys the upcoming events and has a not-so-taxing tax season. Until next time…many happy returns!
