NEW YORK—Accountants
and executives unfamiliar with Extensible Business Reporting
Language may want to consider learning more about the software
code now that Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher
Cox recently announced that work on data tags for the entire
system of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles has
been completed. Extensible
Business Reporting Language (XBRL) is a language for the electronic
communication of business and financial data which Cox called
“part of the overall global effort to revolutionize the
way the planet exchanges financial information,” at
a Sept. 25 press conference at the SEC’s New York regional
offices in downtown Manhattan. Continue...
