Audit Packages

By Bruce H. Nearon

Do you use paper-bound work papers and bulky folders for documenting your audits? Is your file room and office overflowing with audit work papers piled everywhere? If so, you should consider going “paperless” with an audit work paper software package.

Computer processing speed, ubiquitous networking, low-cost, high-capacity disk drive storage, and scanners all have converged to make the paperless audit not only possible, but mandatory to compete in an audit marketplace with razor-thin margins.

The Big Four went paperless long ago, but now leading national, regional and middle-market firms as well as sole practitioners all have jumped on the audit package bandwagon. There are many audit packages available, with a variety of features, but which suits your firm best?

Learn about the pros and cons of the premier audit software packages through attending the Nov. 5 morning continuing professional education (CPE) presentation organized by the New York State Society of CPAs Emerging Technologies (ET) Committee.

The event will cover the following topics:

  • The leading audit software packages available
  • Prices and features
  • Functionality
  • Compliance with SAS 95
