Society Web site an Integral Resource

NYSSCPA.ORG users most commonly access the Web site while they are at work. NetTracker statistics for July imply that the Society members and other professionals who use the site regularly perceive it as a work resource.

"When you consider that the Internet is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and that many professionals have access to it in their own homes, it's significant that most of our visitors come to the site during business hours on weekdays," said Web site Manager Kyle Booth.

Indeed, NetTracker statistics show that people visited the Web site most often on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The average number of pages viewed for those days was 10,307 and 10,405, respectively. Tuesday ranked first for the average number of pages people looked at per visit (4.5), followed closely by Thursday (4.4 pages per visit). Although Friday ranked fifth in most categories, including total views (33,555) and unique visits (7,912), its numbers were still considerably higher than those recorded during the weekend.

According to Booth, people likely go to nysscpa.org when they are searching for a particular document or other specific knowledge related to what they are working on in the office, given the average number of pages viewed per visit (4.1–4.5 during the work week).

“While some individuals may be exploring the site because they're curious about what nysscpa.org has to offer, the average visit duration for the month, about four minutes, and the busiest times on the Web site, between 10 and 11 a.m. and from 3 to 4 p.m., indicate that our members view the Web site as a professional tool," Booth added.
