By LaShekia Chatman

The Foundation for Accounting Education and the IRS Northeast Employee Plans Area will host the Employee Benefits Compliance and Planning Conference on November 14 at the New York Marriott East Side in New York City.

The conference, designed for accountants in public and private practice, employee benefits professionals, and financial planners who provide advice in the area of employee benefits, will provide attendees with current information on many employee benefits topics to aid in their client advisement services.

“Any accountant who has clients with pension or profit sharing plans should attend this conference to find out how the IRS investigates private pension plans,” said conference Co-Chair Seymour Goldberg, adding that attendees will also learn about clients’ rights with respect to pension plan investigations.

The conference will include presentations from top experts in the areas of IRS pension correction programs (including the latest postreorganization information), SEP and SIMPLE plans, qualified plans, and estate and tax planning with retirement assets.

The conference fee ($225 for NYSSCPA members, $250 for nonmembers, and $95 for U.S. government employees) includes lunch and conference materials. Members should watch their mail for a color brochure with full details and registration information. To register or request further information, visit www.nysscpa.org or call (800) NYSSCPA (697-7272).
