NEW YORK—Professional
ethics violations by members of the New York State Society of
CPAs will now be brought to the attention of state or federal
regulatory authorities, according to Society bylaw amendments
passed in July.
Intended
to expedite the Society’s ethics process, give it greater
significance and better serve the public interest, the new bylaw,
which is now in effect, requires the NYSSCPA Professional Ethics
Committee (PEC) to communicate certain professional conduct
matters of a member or partner or employee of a member’s
