E-zine Scores with CPAs
By Cori L. Gabbard
The Society's e-zine provides subscribers with an exclusive preview of the newest additions to the Society's website,www.nysscpa.org, and updates on future events. Since its inception in 1998, the e-zine has become increasingly popular among those in the accounting field, to which subscription statistics attest. Two years ago, 207 individuals signed up as e-zine subscribers. By the end of 1999, that number was 970 - an increase of more than 78 percent. Already this year, the e-zine has gained 145 new followers, expanding its overall subscriber base by 13 percent, which is equivalent to 65 percent of the total number of new subscribers for 1998. With respect to the subscribers' professional characteristics, 80 percent describe themselves as licensed CPAs, while an additional 19 percent remain uncategorized. Three subscribers are CPA candidates and one is an undergraduate. The NYSSCPA website team will be upgrading the content of the e-zine to make it even more informative and useful to its readers. Those interested in receiving the e-zine can sign up for a subscription online by clicking on the E-Zine Subscriptions link in the left-hand column of www.nysscpa.org.
