By Aysha Livingston
Financial professionals in the field of estate planning already know that successfully maintaining assets and estates requires updated information, dedication, and a financial strategy.
On Wednesday, July 25, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, FAE will be hosting the Estate Planning Conference, especially designed for this group of estate planners. The conference has the formula to be an exciting event, featuring a line-up of knowledgeable and experienced guest speakers.
“We have an exciting, dynamic program with nationally recognized speakers who will be discussing the most cutting-edge techniques in the estate planning arena today,” said conference co-chair Alan D. Kahn of the AJK Financial Group. “I believe every CPA, attorney, and financial planner who practices in the estate planning area should attend this conference.”
Edward Slott of E. Slott & Company will deliver a session on the strategies and pitfalls of estate planning with IRAs. Slott’s session will give attendees a road map for the IRA distribution rules, as well as IRA trusts, cases, rulings, distribution methods, and advice on how to avoid IRA penalties and tax traps.
Additionally, attendees will receive solid information on a variety of topics, including fiduciary income taxation, estate planning for family-owned businesses, how to use VEBAs to reduce income taxes and transfer wealth to future generations, advising executors, elder care, the accountant’s role as tax planner, forming and advising family foundations, plus a variety of other topics.
Conference co-chair Susan R. Schoenfeld of the Wealth Management Group of Bessemer Trust Company stated, “I think this year’s conference will be our best yet. We have planned an exciting line-up of speakers, with a fresh look at issues ranging from sophisticated cutting-edge techniques to ‘how-to’ approaches.”
