Show Draws 100 Exhibitors

By Lisa Bittings

The NYSSCPA/FAE 2000 CPAs' Finance, Business and Technology Show and Conference attracted more than 1,500 attendees and 100 exhibitors to New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center last month.

Among the exhibitors was the nation's second largest provider of professional liability insurance coverage for the accounting profession, Camico Mutual Insurance Company, which is also the Society-sponsored carrier. Joining Camico were more than 50 new exhibitors, of which most were e-commerce or other new technology companies such as CPADIRECTORY.COM, ePace! Software, and 1800Adviser.com™. In addition, the show floor featured two BMW automobiles promoting the Society's affinity program with BMW.

CPAs, accountants, treasurers, and controllers from public accounting and industry attended timely sessions on accounting, finance, tax, technology, and related topics.

Some members expressed concern about the show's location, and the NYSSCPA is considering bringing future shows back to midtown for attendees' convenience.

Individuals who would like to receive a show guide describing the exhibitors should e-mail lbittings@nysscpa.org with their mailing address. For information on future trade shows and other FAE events, visit www.nysscpa.org. *
