New Chapter Year Just Around The Corner
Chapters Prepare to Wrap Up 2002–2003

By Marietta E. Gentles

Hints of the 2003–2004 chapter year are evident as the current presidents wrap up their last duties before passing the torch on to the soon-to-be presidents, and annual end-of-the-year activities such as officers nominations dinners and golf outings take place. June will mark the beginning of the New York State Society of CPAs’ new fiscal year as well as the transition to the new local and state officers.

This time of the year marks a new beginning for the chapters as well as the opportunity to continue to build on the successes from the past years. As we speak, many of the chapters are in the process of setting dates for their first organizational meetings, so they can get together and make plans for another round of chapter events, continuing professional education (CPE) seminars and committee meetings. Be sure to check the Upcoming Events calendar for some of the events planned for the next couple of months, which include golf outings, officers nomination/installation dinners, networking events and organizational meetings.

Inside this month’s issue of Chapter Newsletters, some of the chapter presidents took the opportunity to deliver their last president’s message. Mid-Hudson Chapter President Phillip E. Goldstein and Syracuse Chapter President Donald R. Taylor both took a look back at the past year and thanked their chapter members, and wished the new slate of officers good luck in their new positions. Also inside this issue is a Nominating Committee report from the Manhattan/Bronx Chapter that lists the names of the new chapter officers and board members. Additionally, this issue features a number of Save the Dates for a variety of upcoming chapter activities.

As the chapters get ready to welcome the incoming round of officers and plan another round of chapter events for the 2003-2004 year, The Trusted Professional would also like to wish them the best of luck.
