Government Accounting and Auditing Conference to Deliver Cutting-edge Info

By Aysha Livingston

Entities that receive federal awards have special needs, and so do the financial professionals who advise them. The intricate nature of government accounting and auditing requires that financial professionals have the most up-to-date information on the pertinent regulations and procedures. To that end, the Foundation for Accounting Education is hosting the Government Accounting and Auditing Conference on June 20 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City.

Numerous experts are slated to speak at the event, including William V. Allen Jr., own account, on auditing dos and don’ts; Ken Schermann, of the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), on the board’s ongoing projects; and Christopher J. Rosetti, of KPMG, on fraud detection.

Additional sessions will address best practices for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) audits and identifying and implementing e-government and network securities in a government audit.
