The Pros and Cons of LINUX Explored in Free CPE SessionIf your client asked you what LINUX is and whether they should use it, what would you say? Do you or your client have a Novell- or Windows-based Local Area Network (LAN) that is constantly crashing and suffers from performance and reliability problems? Did you buy your Windows NT networking software because it was inexpensive and easy to install, only to find out that you have never-ending and increasing consultant bills to maintain your network because your Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)-trained network administrator lacks the required skills? Should you move to Windows 2000 or XP, which can cost you as much as $20,000 for the operating system and $250 per workstation? Did you know that the LINUX network operating system is more reliable than any version of Windows, more secure from hackers, and is free? So whats the catch? Even though LINUX is free, it is more difficult to install, maintain and manage. You need network administrators or consultants who know what they are doing. Attend the May 23rd New York State Society of CPAs Emerging Technologies Committee continuing professional education presentation and learn the facts about LINUX and why you should consider it as a viable alternative for your firm and clients. Here are the details:
