Society Offers Free Web Hosting for Beta Alpha PsiThe NYSSCPA now offers New York chapters of Beta Alpha Psi, the national accounting fraternity, free web hosting privileges on the Society's website, www.nysscpa.org. "The accounting profession is changing in ways that provide exciting opportunities for the next generation of CPAs, and we are committed to helping talented accounting students achieve their career goals," NYSSCPA Executive Director Louis Grumet said. "Reaching out to Beta Alpha Psi furthers our efforts to make accounting students aware of the many benefits the Society and the profession offer." The Society also is creating links on its site to Beta Alpha Psi chapters that already have a web presence and providing reciprocal links to www.nysscpa.org. With easier access to the Society's website, including resources such as searchable archives of The Trusted Professional and The CPA Journal, students can keep up to date with professional, regulatory, and CPA candidate issues. "Having access to The CPA Journal online not only keeps students like me updated on the accounting world, but allows us to use the Journal and other website materials for academic research," said Aliyah Kozirovsky, president of Pace University's Beta Alpha Psi Iota Lambda Chapter, the first to link up with the Society's website. In addition to Society publications, Beta Alpha Psi members have online access to the Career Opportunities Handbook, a listing of small and medium-sized accounting firms, and other helpful career information through the site's For Future CPAs section. "The Career Opportunities Handbook online is a great help," Kozirovsky said. "It gives students options other than the Big Five. We have used it to find small and medium-sized firms that need interns."
